Technical Support Officer – Community Mobilisation (AIM)

About the role

The Technical Support Officer – Community Mobilisation will support the Technical Coordinator in planning and delivering community‑based empowerment activities for the AIM programme in Kisii and Kakamega, Kenya. The role focuses on gender equality, social inclusion, disability inclusion, SRHR and SGBV interventions, as well as capacity building for staff and youth advocates.

Key responsibilities

• Support the AIM field team during inception activities, including community mobilisation meetings, transect walks, surveys and Youth Development Committee formation.
• Train regional staff and mentors on GESI, GBV, disability inclusion, SRHR and advocacy, and supervise their implementation.
• Lead social and behaviour change communication (SBCC) dialogue sessions with local, religious and cultural leaders and guide the development of community action plans.
• Identify and adapt safe, accessible club spaces with gender‑segregated facilities, prioritising persons with disabilities.
• Coordinate with government, INGOs, CSOs and service providers to map SRHR and SGBV services and support grassroots advocacy.
• Contribute to monitoring frameworks, quality assurance of SGBV case recording databases and timely MIS reporting.

Required profile

• Proactive, resourceful and passionate team player with experience in community mobilisation and gender/social inclusion.
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver training, mentor youth advocates and manage multi‑stakeholder partnerships.
• Strong organisational skills and experience in monitoring, reporting and data quality assurance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using the BInsight Management Information System for data entry and reporting.
• Experience in planning and implementing Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) activities.
