Admissions Officer

About the role

The Admissions Officer will coordinate the full admissions cycle for Aga Khan School, Mombasa, from the first enquiry through to enrolment. The role involves engaging prospective families, providing accurate information about the school’s programmes and fees, and ensuring a smooth, confidential handling of student records. The officer works closely with the Head Teacher, Deputy Head Teacher and learning‑support staff to deliver a professional admissions experience.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the admissions pipeline, follow up on applications and support enrolment targets.
• Provide regular admissions and enrolment reports to the Head Teachers.
• Communicate promptly and professionally with prospective and current families, including tours, fee information and follow‑up calls/emails.
• Liaise with curriculum coordinators and learning‑support team to arrange assessments and support where needed.
• Facilitate admission examinations and prepare admission letters for new students.
• Maintain accurate, confidential student records and update the School Information System in a timely manner.
• Prepare transcripts and other academic documentation for current and former students.
• Manage the archive of student files and perform other duties as directed by the Head Teacher.

Required profile

• Diploma in Admissions, Education Administration, Business Administration, Customer Service or a related field.
• At least two years’ experience in admissions, school administration, customer service or a similar role.
• Previous experience in a school environment is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with a School Information System is desirable.
