Advocacy and Coordination Consultant

About the role

The Advocacy and Coordination Consultant will support the implementation and coordination of advocacy strategies under the ACT Programme. Based in Nairobi, the role focuses on facilitating communication among partners, aligning activities with the regional advocacy agenda, and enhancing the impact of feminist movement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate regular coordination among ACT partners and broader EVAWG stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and resource sharing.
• Support the planning and implementation of regional and country‑level advocacy initiatives, preparing briefs, talking points and stakeholder materials.
• Lead the development and execution of communications and visibility plans, producing newsletters, blogs, success stories and social media content.
• Document advocacy outcomes, lessons learned and best practices for internal learning and donor reporting.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagements, webinars, workshops and multi‑partner events, handling both substantive and logistical preparations.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Gender Studies, Communications, International Relations or a related field.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in advocacy, strategic communications or gender equality work, preferably within a UN or international development context.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting feminist movements, women’s rights organisations or similar stakeholder networks.
