Agriculture Relationship Manager – Commercial

About the role

The Agriculture Relationship Manager – Commercial will manage a portfolio of corporate agribusiness customers, providing credit solutions and driving revenue growth for Absa Bank. The role focuses on building long‑term relationships, quick risk decisions and delivering high‑quality operational service.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve the portfolio’s annual financial targets, including balance‑sheet growth, revenue, profitability and market‑share expansion while keeping risk‑adjusted performance within set limits.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new agribusiness clients, conduct regular reviews, address complaints and identify cross‑selling opportunities across banking products.
• Prepare and assess credit applications, ensure compliance with credit risk policies and coordinate with product specialists and credit managers.
• Coach and develop Assistant Relationship Managers, monitor performance and ensure adherence to service level agreements.

Required profile

• A relevant business‑related degree from a recognised university; additional professional qualifications are a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of relationship‑management experience in business or corporate banking, preferably with an agribusiness focus.
• Strong knowledge of commercial and corporate banking products, credit risk guidelines and the regulatory environment in Kenya.
