AMO Technician – Electro‑Mech Specialist

About the role

The AMO Technician will troubleshoot, test, assemble and disassemble electro‑mechanical assemblies for Baker Hughes in Nairobi. You will support equipment rework, repair and modification while ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental policies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections, testing and assembly of electro‑mechanical components.
• Analyze data from environmental tests and diagnose equipment issues.
• Provide technical support and coaching to fellow technicians.
• Inspect and disposition parts and equipment according to HS&E procedures.
• Document test results and maintenance actions with minimal supervision.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or associate degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience with electro‑mechanical systems (industrial, oilfield, automotive, etc.).
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints and parts lists.
• Basic analytical ability to solve complex technical problems.

Required skills

• Blueprint and wiring diagram interpretation
• Soldering of electro‑mechanical devices
• Operation of multimeters, megohmmeters and hi‑pot testers
• Use of measurement and gauging equipment
• Oscilloscope operation
• Knowledge of fluid power technology, AC/DC circuits and electro‑mechanical devices
