About the role

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is seeking an Analyst to join its Nairobi office. The position supports the Bank’s work across Sub‑Saharan Africa, providing economic and policy analysis that underpins capital‑markets development, country strategy, and transaction execution.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct economic and policy research on Sub‑Saharan African markets.
• Assist in the development of capital‑markets initiatives and investment strategies.
• Support country strategy formulation through data‑driven analysis.
• Collaborate with transaction and banking teams on specific investment projects.
• Prepare analytical reports, briefing notes, and presentations for senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in economics, finance, public policy, or a related field.
• Professional experience at an analyst level, preferably in development finance or related sectors.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to work from the Nairobi office and cover Sub‑Saharan Africa topics.
