Analytics Engineer (Payments & Finance Data)

About the role

Simple Life is seeking an Analytics Engineer to own the finance data domain. You will bring together data from multiple sources, improve its quality, run reconciliations, and ensure that financial models remain reliable for the business.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain end‑to‑end ownership of finance data, acting as the trusted point of contact.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance data products for the finance team, including reports, alerts, and automations.
• Build financial data models in Pigment using Python, Snowflake, Airflow, and dbt.
• Implement continuous monitoring for data freshness, completeness, quality, and reconciliation breaks.
• Investigate data incidents, drive resolutions, and communicate findings to finance leadership.
• Develop LLM‑based agents to accelerate analysis, documentation, and automation across the finance data stack.

Required profile

• Enjoys the satisfaction of successful reconciliations and deep data investigations.
• Strong Python and SQL experience in a data‑engineering or analytics‑engineering context.
• Proven experience building data models with dbt.
• Commercial exposure to real‑world financial or payments data and ability to design systems that handle messy, duplicated, or delayed inputs.
• Experience owning reconciliation processes or data‑quality initiatives.
