Assistant Accountant – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Assistant Accountant to join a fast‑growing pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Nairobi. The role supports the finance team by ensuring accurate recording of transactions and timely preparation of financial reports.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and post financial transactions promptly.
• Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, financial statements and reconciliations.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer and general ledger reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice verification and payment processing.
• Support inventory accounting, stock reconciliation and cost allocation in coordination with production and warehouse teams.
• Prepare statutory deductions, taxes and regulatory returns.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management activities.
• Maintain proper filing for audit and compliance, and support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Minimum O‑Level (KCSE or equivalent) with CPA Part II qualification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field (preferred).
• At least 3 years of relevant experience as an Assistant Accountant or Accountant in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing is an advantage.

Required skills

• CPA Part II qualification.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Kenyan tax regulations.
• Proficiency in general ledger, accounts payable/receivable and inventory accounting processes.
