Assistant Estimator

About the role

Burhani Power Engineers Ltd, part of Burhani Engineers Ltd, is hiring an Assistant Estimator in Nairobi. The role manages tender pricing, documentation and CRM updates, ensuring accurate cost estimation, compliance with technical requirements and proper record keeping for all tendering and quotation activities.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze tender documents and client requirements to prepare competitive pricing proposals, and develop cost estimates for materials, labour and overheads.
• Review and revise bids based on updated client requirements or internal feedback, documenting changes and communicating them to stakeholders.
• Research market prices for materials and services, maintain supplier and vendor price lists and build and keep a rate master.
• Prepare tender submissions including technical data sheets and manufacturer authorizations, and coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers for certifications and approvals.
• Update opportunity statuses in the CRM, open new opportunities, enter data from Excel sheets and generate quotations directly in the CRM.
• Maintain records of supplier quotations, BOQs and tendering documents, and archive historical pricing data.
• Perform other related duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in tendering, estimation or commercial operations within engineering or construction.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel and CRM platforms.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills for cost estimation.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in pricing and documentation.
