Assistant General Manager – Safari Lodge, Maasai Mara

About the role

A safari lodge in Maasai Mara, Kenya, is looking for a dynamic, hands-on Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in running daily operations and delivering an exceptional guest experience. The role strengthens departmental leadership, refines operational systems and builds a high-performance team culture in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Support and oversee all operational departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Kitchen and Guides.
• Deliver a consistently high-quality guest experience through personal hosting and service oversight.
• Mentor and guide departmental heads, ensuring accountability, communication and professional standards.
• Assist the General Manager with operational logistics, procurement, stock control and cost management.
• Oversee daily lodge operations and staff discipline in the absence of the General Manager.
• Collaborate with the General Manager on operational planning, budgeting and reporting.

Required profile

• Experience in hospitality or lodge management.
• Strong background in guest relations and operations management.
• Proven experience leading and developing teams of 20+ staff.
• Solid understanding of lodge logistics, stock control and operational systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in safari lodges or remote hospitality environments is highly preferred.
