Assistant Livestock Production Officer III

About the role

Nakuru County Government, through its Public Service Board, is recruiting seven Assistant Livestock Production Officers III (Job Group H) for a permanent and pensionable position. The advert is open to qualified Kenyan citizens and closes on 29 October 2026. The salary range is Kshs. 28,620 to 37,100.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out practical demonstrations relating to livestock production.
• Accompany extension teams during farm visits and farmer training.
• Take part in field days and agricultural shows to share livestock production technologies and information.
• Collect and collate livestock data and information for gross margins, market access and planning.
• Take part in collaborative research activities.
• Collect livestock inputs and product samples for analysis.
• Advise farmers on group formation, construction of farm structures and equipment.

Required profile

• Diploma in Animal Health and Production, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Science and Technology, Agribusiness, Animal Production, Farm Management, Apiculture, Range Management or Natural Resource Management from a recognised institution.
• Certificate in computer applications from a recognised institution.
