Assistant Logistics Manager – Nairobi

About the role

The Assistant Logistics Manager will support the logistics team in Nairobi, ensuring smooth handling of shipments and compliance with customs regulations. This role is critical for managing urgent freight and coordinating clearing and forwarding activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Logistics Manager in planning and executing shipment schedules.
• Coordinate clearing and forwarding processes for both standard and urgent consignments.
• Maintain compliance with Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) customs regulations and iCMS portal requirements.
• Prepare and submit customs documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Monitor shipment status and resolve issues that may affect delivery timelines.

Required profile

• Degree in Clearing and Forwarding, Supply Chain, Logistics or a CIPS qualification.
• Minimum five years of experience in clearing and forwarding.
• Flexibility to handle urgent shipments at short notice.
• Active registration on the KRA iCMS portal.
• Valid KRA Customs Agent Licence.
• Familiarity with CP1, CP2 and CP3 customs procedures.
