Assistant Operator in Responsible Charge (AORC)

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Assistant Operator in Responsible Charge (AORC) to support a U.S. Navy water treatment program on Diego Garcia. The role involves assisting with the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of a water treatment plant to ensure safe drinking water for the installation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in operating the water treatment plant and maintaining proper water levels in storage tanks.
• Monitor and control equipment processes, perform routine maintenance, and keep detailed operational records.
• Collect and analyze water samples to verify compliance with state and federal standards, including pH, chlorine, and turbidity testing.
• Respond to emergencies such as power outages or equipment failures to maintain continuous water supply.
• Support laboratory testing and ensure all safety protocols, including PPE use and chemical handling, are followed.

Required profile

• Current valid Level II Treatment and Level II Distribution operator certifications, with ongoing professional development as required by CNIC M5090.1A.
• Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English for contract requirements and emergency procedures.
• Valid passport (minimum one year) and ability to obtain required visas and pass medical and security clearances.
• Preferred experience in austere OCONUS environments and a valid country driver’s license.
