Assistant Procurement Officer – West Pokot Mine

About the role

The Assistant Procurement Officer will deliver accurate, timely and fully documented transactional procurement at the West Pokot Mine site. Working under the supervision of the Procurement Officer, the role ensures requisitions are turned into correct purchase orders, quotations are managed and deliveries are expedited while maintaining audit‑ready records.

Key responsibilities

• Process approved requisitions and prepare draft purchase orders in the ERP system.
• Collect, compare and evaluate supplier quotations, ensuring compliance with policy thresholds.
• Expedite deliveries, follow up on order status and maintain an up‑to‑date purchase order register.
• Maintain complete, audit‑ready procurement files from requisition through payment.
• Support the Procurement Officer by providing accurate data for negotiations and award decisions.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on procurement experience, preferably in a mining environment.
• Strong understanding of procurement policies, segregation of duties and integrity standards.
• Ability to work under pressure on a remote site and to escalate issues promptly.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP procurement modules.
• Ability to prepare and review purchase orders and manage supplier quotations.
