Assistant Production Manager

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Production Manager who prioritises results over excuses. This role exists to drive output and discipline on the factory floor by ensuring machines produce and people perform.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure machines meet daily targets per shift and immediately escalate constraints.
• Investigate, log and correct all preventable downtime events.
• Enforce shift discipline, recommend coaching or PIPs and escalate repeat offenders.
• Maintain zero tolerance for shortcuts, ensuring safety and cleanliness standards are met.
• Track operator skill levels and flag performance stagnation early.
• Deliver daily summaries on output, downtime analysis, waste/rejects and disciplinary actions.

• You are an aspiring leader looking to grow into a Production Manager or Plant Head role.

Required skills

• Strong mechanical awareness to understand how machines function.
• Data‑literate: comfortable with numbers, logs and performance tracking.
• Proven experience supervising machine operators or technicians.
• Flexibility to work both day and night shift rotations.
