Assistant Storekeeper (Entry Level)

About the role

The Assistant Storekeeper will support the Kenya Warehouse Manager in managing indoor residual spraying (IRS) commodities across temporary stores in Busia and Siaya counties. This entry‑level role is funded by the US Department of State and contributes to malaria vector control and HIV/AIDS service delivery. The position involves receiving, verifying, storing, labeling and tracking IRS items to ensure uninterrupted campaign operations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify deliveries of IRS commodities, ensuring quantities and specifications match documentation.
• Store, label and track items in accordance with safety and hazardous‑material handling procedures.
• Maintain and update inventory management tools for each temporary store.
• Monitor stock levels, place replenishment orders and coordinate with the central warehouse.
• Conduct regular stock‑takes and audits, reporting any discrepancies to the storekeeper and Warehouse Manager.
• Ensure store security by implementing measures to prevent theft, damage and unauthorized access.
• Oversee daily store operations, guaranteeing that inventory is organized and readily available for field teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 3‑6 months of experience in a warehouse, storekeeping or inventory‑control role.
• Certificate in Purchasing & Supply Chain, Warehouse Management or a related field.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Busia and Siaya counties and travel to multiple temporary store locations.
