Assistant Workshop Manager

About the role

The Assistant Workshop Manager supports the Workshop Manager in overseeing daily workshop operations for Mini Group. The role ensures that all activities are performed safely, on schedule, and in line with company standards and SOPs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Workshop Manager in aligning workshop activities with company goals, KPIs and operational standards.
• Supervise, train and guide workshop staff on procedures, SOPs and performance expectations.
• Support HR functions including recruitment, induction, attendance monitoring, leave planning and performance evaluation.
• Help implement EHS requirements, coordinate safety committee meetings and facilitate audits.
• Manage allocation, use, servicing and documentation of workshop assets, tools, PPE and vehicles.
• Support procurement planning, stock replenishment, supplier engagement and stock movement documentation.
• Ensure proper office administration, records control, document archiving and internal communication.
• Monitor workshop security, visitor access, key control and disposal of used spare parts.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing a large automotive workshop.
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety, fire marshal duties, first aid and site safety.
• Ability to work flexibly across Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa or other locations in Kenya.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
