Associate Field Manager - Field (Fixed Term Contract)

About the role

GiveDirectly is hiring an Associate Field Manager (AFM) on a fixed-term contract, based in Magarini, Kenya, with regular travel to nearby program field sites. The AFM ensures a high-quality experience for recipients while keeping operations efficient, manages a team of Field Officers, oversees day-to-day field activities, monitors data quality and drives continuous process improvements. The role is the Field Manager's main resource on the ground and links field teams with senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Field management: run the field work plan on a rolling basis, hold weekly debriefs, coordinate daily activities and routes, track enrollment weekly and escalate challenges to the Field Manager.
• People management: schedule the team, hold weekly one-on-ones and group check-ins, support performance reviews and improvement plans, mentor and coach, onboard new members, organize team-building and run a leave management plan.
• Quality and data: run weekly desktop checks and spot checks on enrollment, shadow Field Officers weekly, analyze data weekly and submit survey permission and troubleshooting tickets on time.
• Data collection and process improvement: collect at least two household surveys weekly, pilot quality tools, refine targeting criteria and coordinate extra data collection such as PPI and JMMI.
• Admin and finance: submit weekly stock counts, request and update enrollment flyers monthly, issue protective equipment, submit weekly timesheets and reconcile transport expenses, approve airtime allowances monthly.
• Stakeholder engagement: engage administrative leaders and community leaders, keep a log of engagements and help resolve escalated cases such as safeguarding and impersonation incidents.
• Risk management: continuously monitor cultural, logistical and operational risks and escalate them to the Field Manager.
