Associate II – Business Development (Group Life & Pensions)

About the role

The Associate II – Business Development will drive growth of ICEA Lion’s Group Life & Pensions portfolio. Based in Nairobi, the role focuses on generating revenue through brokers and direct clients, preparing competitive quotations, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Generate revenue from new and existing brokers and clients by providing competitive quotations.
• Prepare and submit proposals and tender documents.
• Consult clients on optimal cover, taking multiple factors into account.
• Set up meetings, deliver presentations, and process new‑business documentation.
• Maintain strong relationships with intermediaries, business partners and existing customers.
• Provide market intelligence, update prospect databases and submit weekly activity reports.
• Ensure compliance with the Business Development operational manual and Code of Ethics.
• Manage exhibition stands, corporate sponsorships and social forums for partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Social Sciences or a related field from a reputable university.
• At least four (4) years post‑qualification experience in Life Assurance and Pensions Business Development.
• Demonstrated sales and marketing experience.
• Progress toward professional insurance qualifications (e.g., ACII, FCII) is an advantage.
