Associate Manager - Production

About the role

The Associate Manager – Production will implement production plans and programmes, oversee quality processes, and ensure optimal output to meet market demand in line with organisational objectives at SC Johnson’s Nairobi plant.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee production planning to maximise plant resource utilisation and achieve targets.
• Conduct annual, monthly and weekly resource planning (labour, plant, equipment) based on sales forecasts.
• Manage and optimise production processes to meet all production targets.
• Implement production strategies, plans and control systems.
• Ensure cost‑effective use of machines, materials and staff.
• Maintain Safety, Health and Environmental standards in line with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and local legislation.
• Maintain Quality standards in line with ISO 9001 and local legislation.
• Lead, motivate, develop and supervise production team leaders.
• Update KPIs for weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews and present to site leadership.
• Liaise with Engineering, Purchasing, Planning, QA, Warehouse, HR and other departments to achieve objectives.
• Drive medium‑term sub‑projects for cost reduction as agreed with the Plant Manager.
• Promote continuous improvement in production operations.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering or a related field from a recognised university.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing plant, preferably in FMCG.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Proven problem‑solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
• Excellent organisational and analytical capabilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Proficiency with manufacturing standards and processes.
