Associate Professor - Cognitive Psychology

About the role

The University seeks an Associate Professor to join its Faculty of Psychology, focusing on cognitive psychology. The role involves teaching, research, and service to support the university’s mission of academic excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess undergraduate and graduate courses in cognitive psychology.
• Mentor and support students in academic and career development.
• Participate in curriculum development to keep programs current and marketable.
• Engage in program assessment and periodic reviews.
• Supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects, theses, and dissertations.
• Conduct original research in the candidate’s area of expertise.
• Contribute to university, professional, and community service activities.

Required profile

• Earned Doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD or equivalent) in Psychology with a specialization relevant to cognitive psychology.
• Prior teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral level.
• Minimum publication points as defined by CUE Standards & Guidelines, 2014.
• Registration with the Counselors and Psychologists Board of Kenya or other relevant professional bodies (where applicable).
• Supervision of postgraduate students is an advantage.
