Automotive Service Worker & Cleaner

About the role

Amentum is looking for an Automotive Service Worker & Cleaner to support a U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves routine vehicle maintenance, cleaning, and parts handling while adhering to strict safety and occupational health standards.

Key responsibilities

• Grease, gas, oil, and wash vehicles; check tire pressure and repair flats.
• Replace oil filters, spark plugs, and distributors; clean carburetors and air cleaners.
• Monitor water levels, battery condition, and electrical systems; replace burned‑out bulbs and sealed beams.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and report equipment with excessive consumption.
• Pick up and deliver automotive parts and supplies as needed.
• Follow all occupational safety and health protocols, including proper PPE use.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED.
• Good knowledge of minor automotive maintenance and repair methods.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Dependable, mechanical aptitude, and ability to work in an austere OCONUS environment.
• English reading, speaking, and comprehension sufficient for contract requirements.
• Valid passport (minimum 1‑year validity) and ability to obtain required visas.
• Pass contract medical requirements and maintain facility credentials.
