Baker

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Baker for its bakery in Ongata Rongai. The baker prepares and bakes a wide range of products such as bread, buns, cakes, pastries and cookies, following established recipes and keeping quality and hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and bake bread, buns, cakes, pastries, cookies and other bakery items according to recipes.
• Measure, mix, knead, shape, proof and portion ingredients and dough accurately to get consistent results.
• Operate ovens, mixers, proofers and other bakery equipment safely, monitoring temperature and time.
• Check finished products for taste, texture, appearance, freshness and presentation, and report quality issues.
• Keep work areas, utensils and equipment clean and follow food handling, storage and safety procedures.
• Store, label and rotate ingredients so they stay fresh and reduce waste.
• Monitor ingredient stock and follow daily production schedules.
• Work with kitchen, catering and food production teams and communicate with supervisors.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Baker or in a bakery/kitchen environment.
• Good knowledge of baking techniques and food preparation.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent product quality.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
• Able to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
• Good teamwork, communication and time management, with attention to detail and a clean, professional attitude.
