Baker – US Navy Support on Diego Garcia

About the role

Amentum is looking for a skilled Baker to join a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will prepare a variety of bakery products while upholding the highest standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare breads, pastries, desserts, and other bakery items according to standardized recipes and production schedules.
• Measure, weight, and adjust ingredients to ensure consistency and product quality.
• Maintain strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards.
• Keep workstations, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitized throughout each shift.
• Record daily production quantities and food waste for inventory control and reporting.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules with proper documentation.
• Support uninterrupted food service operations by ensuring production meets the next shift’s needs.
• Assist with inventory management, storing ingredients and rotating stock using FIFO practices.
• Provide direction to bakery staff in the absence of the head baker and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year of baking experience in a full‑service, commercial, or institutional environment.
• Current ServSafe (or equivalent) food safety certification.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Valid passport with at least one year of validity and ability to obtain required visas.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements.
