Bilingual Real Estate Translator

About the role

We are looking for a native‑level bilingual professional to provide real‑time English‑Chinese translation and interpretation for our real‑estate team in Nairobi. The role is full‑time, on‑site, and essential for smooth communication with Chinese and local Kenyan clients throughout the sales and leasing process.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver instant oral interpretation and accurate written translation for client negotiations, property viewings, meetings, and daily office communications.
• Translate and standardise all real‑estate documents, including property brochures, contracts, client files, market reports, policy papers and partnership agreements.
• Maintain continuous availability during working hours, respond promptly to translation requests, and monitor project progress.
• Proofread and optimise translated content to ensure compliance with Kenyan real‑estate regulations, business etiquette and market realities.
• Facilitate cross‑cultural communication between Chinese and Kenyan stakeholders, improving negotiation efficiency and supporting sales closures.
• Organise translation archives, compile industry terminology, and enhance the company’s bilingual translation standards.

Required profile

• Permanent resident of Kenya with a stable, full‑time availability.
• Native‑level fluency in both English and Chinese, with proven oral and written translation ability.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in the Kenyan real‑estate sector (sales, management, customer service or related).
• Strong knowledge of local real‑estate transaction processes, terminology, market pricing and regulatory framework.
• Familiarity with Kenyan business etiquette and cultural customs, and ability to handle urgent translation needs.
