Blockchain Developer

About the role

We are looking for a full‑time Blockchain Developer to join our Nairobi team and help build the blockchain‑based core of HisaHub’s digital investment platform. You will design, develop and maintain smart contracts and decentralized applications that enable secure, regulated investment services across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy smart contracts on platforms such as Ethereum, Polygon, Solana or Hyperledger.
• Implement secure transaction logic and integrate blockchain components with back‑end services and APIs.
• Collaborate with product, data and security teams to build scalable, regulation‑compliant solutions.
• Review and optimise blockchain architecture, conduct code reviews and produce technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring high system reliability.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies, including consensus mechanisms and dApps.
• Experience building secure, scalable back‑end APIs and micro‑services.
• Knowledge of cryptography concepts such as hashing, digital signatures and encryption.
• Understanding of fintech or financial services, especially trading, digital assets or payments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with at least one major blockchain platform (Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, Hyperledger).
• Programming languages: Solidity, Rust, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Back‑end development, APIs, micro‑services.
• Cryptography fundamentals.
• Secure coding practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing.
• Version control with Git.
• Containerisation tools such as Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes (optional).
