Boiler Operator – Fixed-Term

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking a reliable Boiler Operator on a six‑month fixed‑term contract to manage the steam and hot‑water boiler systems at its Sagana facility in Kenya. The role ensures continuous, safe, and efficient boiler performance to support the organization’s agricultural processing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor boiler systems to maintain optimal steam and hot‑water production.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs.
• Diagnose and resolve boiler issues, conducting safety tests and system checks.
• Maintain accurate logs of operations, maintenance activities, and repairs.
• Manage fuel inventory and related consumables.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless boiler operation.
• Implement Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) requirements.
• Identify and propose measures to reduce energy consumption.

Required profile

• Certificate in boiler operation, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on boiler operating experience.
• NITA certification.
• Eligibility to work in Kenya (citizen or permanent resident).
