BTEC Business Teacher

About the role

The School of the Nations is seeking a dedicated BTEC Business Teacher to join its Nairobi campus. This full-time position involves delivering the British-curriculum BTEC Business programme to secondary and post-16 learners while upholding the school’s Christian ethos and commitment to holistic development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging BTEC Business lessons aligned with Cambridge standards.
• Create schemes of work, design coursework and supervise practical business projects.
• Assess student performance, provide timely feedback and maintain accurate academic records.
• Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular initiatives and contribute to school events and extracurricular activities.
• Participate in parent meetings, professional development sessions and school-wide initiatives promoting the Christian values of the institution.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of the BTEC Business curriculum and contemporary business concepts.
• Proven classroom teaching experience with secondary and post-16 learners, including lesson planning and differentiated instruction.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with diverse cultures and beliefs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education or related field; teaching qualification and prior BTEC experience are highly desirable.
• Commitment to inclusive, student-centred teaching and alignment with the school’s Christian mission.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) to organise and deliver content.
• Ability to use presentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Google Slides) and online resources to enhance learning.
