Bulker Driver

About the role

The Bulker Driver is responsible for safely transporting bulk liquids using a prime mover and tanker. This role requires strict adherence to safety, documentation, and product protection procedures while operating on assigned routes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of the prime mover and tanker, reporting any defects.
• Present the unit at the weighbridge, verify tare and gross weights, and ensure seals are intact before departure.
• Confirm the tanker is clean, dry and free of contamination before loading and protect the product from moisture during transit.
• Operate the compressor, aeration system and discharge line according to prescribed pressures and timings.
• Connect and disconnect discharge hoses under site supervision, verify silo capacity and product grade, and remain on‑site for the full discharge.
• Observe all site safety requirements, including PPE, no‑smoking zones and traffic marshalling.
• Follow the assigned route and journey management plan, obtaining authorisation for any deviations.
• Obtain signed proof of delivery, reconcile quantities and submit all trip documentation on return.
• Maintain service schedules for the vehicle, ensure routine servicing and fault rectification.
• Report accidents, spills, breakdowns and traffic offences promptly.

Required profile

• Mid‑level driver with approximately 84 months (7 years) of experience operating bulk tankers.
• Ability to conduct detailed vehicle inspections and complete required documentation.
