Business Analyst (Middle Level)

About the role

The Business Analyst acts as the link between business stakeholders and technology teams, eliciting, analysing and documenting requirements so that business objectives align with technical solutions. The role supports the delivery of systems, integrations and process improvements, working closely with product owners, developers, QA, architects and business users. There is one opening in Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document business requirements, functional specifications, user stories and process flows.
• Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements.
• Collaborate with technical teams on solution designs, data flows and system integrations.
• Support SDLC activities such as sprint planning, backlog refinement and release planning.
• Work with QA and stakeholders to define acceptance criteria and support functional, integration and UAT testing.
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews and requirement walkthroughs.
• Manage requirement traceability and identify process improvement opportunities and automation use cases.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or a related field.
• Strong background in business analysis, including requirements elicitation, documentation and stakeholder management.
• Desirable: professional certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA or Agile BA; technical certifications (cloud platforms, SQL, API integration, data analysis tools) are an added advantage.

Required skills

• Process modelling (BPMN, UML, use cases, swimlanes).
• Understanding of APIs, integrations, databases, data flows and cloud systems.
• Data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel and BI platforms.
• Agile methods and tools (Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps) and familiarity with SDLC and DevOps.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
