Business Banker

About the role

Co-operative Bank is hiring a Business Banker in Westlands, Nairobi. The role drives acquisition, growth and retention of SME and business banking customers, builds long-term relationships and manages credit portfolios while ensuring compliance with credit policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Drive acquisition, growth and retention of SME and business banking customers, identify new opportunities and expand market share within assigned segments.
• Deepen existing relationships through cross-selling of the Bank's products and services.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships, provide tailored financial solutions and resolve customer concerns promptly.
• Prepare quality credit proposals, conduct financial statement analysis and recommend lending solutions.
• Monitor portfolio performance to ensure quality and profitability.
• Ensure adherence to credit policies, regulatory requirements and operational procedures, and manage portfolio risk including PAR and NPL accounts.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Banking or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in SME, business or corporate banking or relationship management within a financial institution.
• Proven track record in business acquisition, portfolio growth and revenue generation.
• Demonstrated understanding of banking regulations, risk management and credit policies.
