Business Coach for CASHA Program in Turkana

About the role

The CASHA Business Coach will support the implementation of the CASHA program in Turkana, helping ultra‑poor women and youth build sustainable micro‑enterprises. Working closely with Boma Project’s Rural Entrepreneur Access Project, the coach will provide hands‑on business development, mentorship, and market‑entry guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver business development services to SMEs and micro‑enterprises along livestock and agricultural value chains in the ASAL regions.
• Collect, enter, and analyse field data to generate actionable insights for program decisions.
• Mentor and coach entrepreneurs on market trends, cash‑flow management, and growth strategies.
• Facilitate capacity‑building workshops and one‑on‑one coaching sessions.
• Coordinate with local partners and Boma savings associations to ensure financial inclusion.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Agriculture, Livestock or related field.
• 3‑5 years experience working with young entrepreneurs, SMEs, and value‑chain actors.
• Proven track record delivering business development services in arid and semi‑arid lands.
• Valid A1/A2 motorcycle licence and ability to travel within Turkana.
• Resident of the county where CASHA will be implemented.

Required skills

• Strong mentorship and coaching abilities.
• Data collection, entry and analysis competence.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Salesforce (preferred).
