Business Development Manager – International Arbitration & Trade

About the role

Arnold & Porter is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth for its International Arbitration and International Trade practices. The role will be based in either New York or Washington, DC and will act as a strategic partner to practice leaders and senior attorneys.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with practice chairs to design and execute international business development strategies.
• Identify market trends, client opportunities, and cross‑border growth areas.
• Support business development across priority global markets, tailoring strategies to local dynamics.
• Lead high‑impact pitches, RFP responses, and client engagements.
• Assist with lateral partner integration through targeted client planning.
• Develop and manage practice group budgets, track ROI, and use CRM tools for activity reporting.
• Oversee creation of global marketing collateral and coordinate webinars, client events, and conferences.
• Supervise and mentor junior business development team members.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of global markets and regulatory environments.
• Proven ability to partner with senior attorneys and practice leaders.
• Experience driving cross‑practice and cross‑regional collaboration.
• Leadership skills to mentor junior team members.
