Business Development Officer – Loan Services

About the role

The Business Development Officer will drive customer acquisition and loan portfolio growth for Known Capital. You will promote loan products, assess applications, and build lasting relationships with borrowers.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit and onboard new customers for loan products.
• Market and promote the company’s loan services.
• Receive, assess, and process loan applications.
• Conduct verification, credit assessments, and field visits.
• Recommend loan amounts based on repayment capacity.
• Monitor loan utilization, repayments, and portfolio performance.
• Follow up on due and overdue loans via calls and field visits.
• Negotiate repayment arrangements and recover outstanding loans.
• Maintain accurate records of customers, loans, repayments, and collections.
• Achieve targets for acquisition, disbursement, repayments, and collections.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Economics, Cooperative Management or related field.
• Entry‑level experience (up to 12 months) in micro‑finance, lending, debt collection, sales, SACCOs, banking or financial services is an advantage.
• Strong sales, marketing, negotiation and customer‑service abilities.
• Ability to assess creditworthiness and work independently with regular field visits.
• Target‑driven, able to work under pressure with high integrity and professionalism.
