Business Development & Research Intern (Remote, Nairobi)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Business Development & Research Intern to support our bid response and BD team. Based in Nairobi and working fully remotely, you will collaborate with senior leaders to shape sustainable finance proposals and identify new partnership opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and scope sustainable finance proposals across clean energy, transport, nature‑based solutions and climate‑aligned public finance.
• Research funding opportunities, donor priorities and institutional landscapes, including government procurement and climate finance mechanisms.
• Produce research memoranda and analytical briefs for senior leaders.
• Develop proposal narratives, theories of change and strategic frameworks for bidding processes.
• Create presentations and supporting materials for partnership discussions.
• Manage BD pipelines, track activity across geographies and funding windows, and ensure timely delivery of high‑quality outputs.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a background in Sustainable Finance, Climate Change or International Development.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Highly motivated, able to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Team player comfortable in a fast‑moving entrepreneurial environment.
