Business Development Specialist - Logistics

About the role

Apexloads is a tech startup building a digital freight marketplace that connects freight forwarders, brokerage companies and transporters across East Africa. It is hiring a full-time Business Development Specialist in Mombasa, Kenya, focused on field sales, lead conversion and subscription growth.

Key responsibilities

• Pursue prospects in the logistics sector (freight forwarders, transporters, brokerage companies, importers and exporters)
• Turn prospects into active platform users
• Meet clients, deliver product demos and promote Apexloads solutions
• Support new users through onboarding and build lasting relationships
• Track leads, follow-ups and conversions in the CRM
• Report on sales performance and help improve the customer experience
• Stay informed on freight industry trends, regulations and challenges

Required profile

• Experience in logistics, transport or B2B services in Kenya is highly beneficial, with a proven sales or business development track record
• A relevant diploma or degree is preferred
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in a diverse team
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Comfortable with fieldwork, sales targets and teamwork

Required skills

• Familiarity with CRM tools and pipeline management
