Business Process Auditor

About the role

The Business Process Auditor will support Equity Bank Kenya by planning, executing, and reporting on internal audits of financial, operational, and information system controls. The role involves collaborating with process owners to identify risks, recommend mitigations, and ensure audit issues are resolved on time.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute routine audits in line with the audit plan.
• Develop work programs to evaluate internal controls and meet audit standards.
• Lead audit teams during fieldwork and conduct ad‑hoc reviews.
• Identify business risks, control weaknesses and propose mitigation measures.
• Assess the adequacy and efficiency of financial, operational and IT controls.
• Discuss audit findings with process owners and agree on action plans and target dates.
• Prepare timely, high‑quality audit reports and track issue resolution.
• Contribute to improving audit methodology, tools (e.g., Teammate) and templates.
• Continuously enhance knowledge of business processes, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

• Ability to work independently and lead audit teams.
• Attention to detail and commitment to audit quality.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer‑assisted audit techniques.
• Experience using audit software such as Teammate.
