Cargo Supervisor

About the role

The Cargo Supervisor ensures superior service quality for existing and potential customers, working directly and with ground handling agents (GHA). The role oversees day‑to‑day cargo operations, guiding staff and contractors to meet Emirates SkyCargo standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and coordinate operational activities to maximise efficiency and productivity.
• Monitor GHA service delivery, address shortcomings promptly and ensure compliance with EK standards.
• Resolve operational issues such as delays, cargo mishandling and space utilisation challenges.
• Review, collate and compile cargo documentation in line with local regulations and company policies.
• Complete post‑flight activities, including dispatch of messages, forwarding documentation and maintaining station files.
• Investigate and respond to queries, complaints and claims from internal and external customers.

Required profile

• Educated to GCSE level with at least 6 years cargo operations experience, including 4 years in a team‑lead role, or A‑Level with at least 4 years cargo experience and 2 years as a cargo agent.
• Proven ability to motivate, train and supervise staff, manage rosters and conduct performance appraisals.

Required skills

• Dangerous Goods (DG) certification and knowledge of DG regulations.
• Understanding of Weight & Balance procedures and Live Animal Regulations.
• Proficiency with PC applications: Microsoft Word, Excel and email.
