Carpenter – Project Based – Construction (Westlands)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled carpenter to join our construction projects on a project‑based contract in Westlands, Nairobi. You will work on a variety of tasks ranging from framework construction to finishing work, supporting our site teams to deliver high‑quality results.

Key responsibilities

• Construct, assemble, and install wooden frameworks, doors, furniture, and fixtures.
• Cut, shape, and join wood using hand and power tools according to drawings and measurements.
• Measure accurately, calculate material requirements, and prepare cut lists.
• Sand, finish, and apply varnish, paint, or protective coatings as needed.
• Operate carpentry machinery safely and maintain tools, reporting any damage.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
• Collaborate with supervisors, designers, and other site workers, reporting progress and material needs.
• Travel between project sites, relocate if required, and work overtime when necessary.

Required profile

• Minimum KCSE or equivalent education.
• Proven hands‑on carpentry experience in construction or furniture work.
• Experience in tiling and general masonry work is an advantage.
• Carpentry certification or vocational training is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and reliable teamwork.
