Cashew Extension & Aggregation Officer (Fixed-Term)

About the role

One Acre Fund is looking for a hands‑on Extension and Aggregation Officer to run a cashew buying centre on Kenya’s coast. The role focuses on aggregating raw cashew nuts, ensuring quality, and building market access for smallholder farmers.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the buying centre during scheduled hours, keeping it clean, organized and secure.
• Handle, dry, store and weigh raw cashew nuts (RCN) according to Tupande SOPs.
• Perform quality control on each purchase, sorting out damaged or moldy nuts.
• Process payments through FieldPro and ensure compliance with KRA/eTIMS.
• Escalate any disputes, discrepancies or data‑quality issues to the supervisor.
• Deliver agronomic training to farmers, communicate purchase and quality requirements, and conduct field visits.
• Collect accurate farmer and broker data using digital tools and record stock‑take information.
• Coordinate logistics with loaders, the Tupande logistics team and supervisors to schedule RCN collection.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience managing a commodity buying centre.
• Ability to provide agronomic training and support smallholder farmers.
• Familiarity with Kenyan tax and payment systems (KRA/eTIMS).
• Proficiency in using digital data‑collection tools for field reporting.
