CBE Early Years & Music Teachers

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic CBE Anchor Teacher to deliver English and Creative Arts instruction at a primary school in Kisii, Kenya. The role is part of a broader recruitment for Early Years and Music teachers under the Competency‑Based Education (CBE) framework.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English and Creative Arts lessons aligned with the CBE curriculum.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, learning activities and instructional materials that foster inquiry, creativity and problem‑solving.
• Integrate core competencies and contemporary issues into teaching and learning.
• Assess learners continuously using CBE assessment tools, maintain accurate records and portfolios.
• Provide differentiated support and interventions to meet individual learner needs.
• Maintain an inclusive, learner‑centred classroom environment and promote positive behaviour.
• Incorporate ICT and appropriate educational technologies into lessons.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians and participate in school meetings.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and interdisciplinary projects.

Required profile

• Mid‑level teaching experience (minimum 5 years) in primary education.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Competency‑Based Education principles.
• Strong command of English language and proficiency in Creative Arts instruction.
• Ability to design project‑based and experiential learning activities.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with learners, parents and staff.
• Relevant teaching certification or diploma.
