Chief Financial Officer

About the role

Busha is seeking a strategic, commercially‑driven Chief Financial Officer to lead its finance function and partner with the executive team. The CFO will shape business strategy, manage financial risk, and ensure compliance with Kenyan regulations and international best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the CEO and Board on financial strategy, growth initiatives, and risk management.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and KPI tracking.
• Oversee preparation of IFRS‑compliant financial statements and internal controls.
• Manage treasury, cash flow, working capital, and multi‑currency operations.
• Ensure compliance with the Central Bank of Kenya, CMA, KRA, and AML/CFT frameworks.
• Drive fundraising, investor relations, and support M&A due diligence.
• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks through robust internal control frameworks.
• Build and lead a high‑performing finance team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior finance leadership within a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of Kenyan financial regulations and international accounting standards.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with executive leadership and influence strategic decisions.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
