Chief, Investigations – Lead Misconduct & Sexual Misconduct Units

About the role

The Chief, Investigations, Unit 2 will lead UNDP's misconduct investigations across Central and West Africa and East and Southern Africa, including the Sexual Misconduct Team. Reporting to the Deputy Director (Investigations), the role combines operational leadership with policy support for sexual misconduct matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise investigation teams, ensuring timely, high‑quality case management and reporting.
• Oversee the production of evidence‑based investigation reports for disciplinary or criminal referral.
• Conduct regular case reviews, monitor timelines, and allocate resources efficiently.
• Provide senior expertise on complex, high‑priority investigations and advise investigators.
• Integrate IT forensics, financial forensics, AI, and data analytics to enhance investigative outcomes.
• Foster a supportive, collaborative team culture, supervise staff performance, and promote professional development.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading multi‑regional investigations on misconduct, fraud, corruption, or sexual exploitation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage diverse teams across multiple locations and maintain high ethical standards.
• Strong knowledge of international investigation guidelines, UNDP legal frameworks, and data security principles.
