Chief Nutrition (P-5)

About the role

The Chief Nutrition (P-5) leads UNICEF's nutrition strategy in Kenya, shaping policies and programmes that improve child health and nutrition outcomes. Reporting to senior management, the role combines technical expertise with strategic leadership to drive impact across humanitarian and development contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide managerial leadership for nutrition programmes and teams.
• Develop, plan and oversee nutrition programmes, ensuring alignment with UNICEF goals.
• Manage programme implementation, monitoring, and quality control of results.
• Deliver advisory services and technical support to partners and stakeholders.
• Lead advocacy, networking and partnership building initiatives.
• Foster innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Nutrition, Public Health, Nutritional Epidemiology, Global Health, or a related health science.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in nutrition, public health, nutrition policy, health systems, food systems, or humanitarian nutrition.
• Proven managerial leadership, advocacy, partnership building and strategic thinking abilities.
• Fluency in English.
