Chinese Translator (Mandarin ↔ English) – Manufacturing Set‑up

About the role

The company is looking for a bilingual Chinese‑English translator to support its manufacturing operations in Nairobi. The role involves both written and verbal translation, facilitating clear communication between management, employees and external partners. You will work closely with various departments to ensure accurate, confidential information flow.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate verbal and written translation between Mandarin and English.
• Facilitate communication between management and staff.
• Assist with employee coordination and day‑to‑day workforce management.
• Prepare, translate and organise reports, correspondence and other company documents.
• Support administrative tasks and maintain proper documentation.
• Help supervisors communicate work schedules and production targets.
• Assist Chinese visitors, consultants, suppliers and clients during factory visits.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of company information and employee records.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language, Translation, Linguistics, International Relations, Business Administration or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Chinese translator or interpreter.
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, engineering or construction environment is an advantage.
• Excellent spoken and written Mandarin and English.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.

• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
