Clearing and Forwarding Operator (Fixed Term)

About the role

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a multimodal logistics operator (port, logistics, maritime and rail) in Africa and part of the MSC Group, is hiring a Clearing and Forwarding Operator in Nairobi. This is a full-time, fixed-term position handling day-to-day client operations and shipment files.

Key responsibilities

• Handle the daily operational relationship with clients: receive orders, ask for missing documents and detailed instructions, inform clients of file progress in real time and resolve their queries proactively.
• Manage file processing: update clients and the IFFOS on progress and the monitoring software, process export documentation, book cargo with shipping lines and organize container transport for stuffing/POR.
• Follow up with shipping lines on vessel arrivals, track receipt of invoices, attach them to the file and submit for approval, and regularly archive files physically and electronically.
• Ensure client files contain all required attachments and copies, and alert management and escalate issues that cannot be handled.

Required profile

• Diploma in Clearing and Forwarding.
• 2 years of experience in clearing and forwarding.
• An East Africa Freight Forwarding Practicing Certificate is an added advantage.
