Clinical Instructor

About the role

The Clinical Instructor will join PCEA Chogoria Hospital to provide hands‑on teaching and supervision for nursing students in a busy clinical environment. This role bridges classroom learning with real‑world patient care, ensuring students acquire the competencies required for safe practice.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct instruction, guidance and mentorship to nursing students during clinical placements.
• Support curriculum implementation and align clinical experiences with learning objectives.
• Organise and schedule rotations, evaluate student performance, and conduct formative clinical assessments.
• Provide orientation for students, coordinate MOUs with placement facilities, and manage skills‑lab resources.
• Supervise practical skills, ensure availability of supplies, and monitor student progress against objectives.
• Offer academic advising, serve as a role model, and perform any additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma in Nursing (or equivalent Associate’s degree).
• Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya and holding a valid practice licence.
• At least two years of professional nursing experience in a recognized, busy hospital.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team, demonstrating high integrity and self‑drive.
