Clinical Instructor

About the role

The Clinical Instructor will lead nursing and midwifery students through their clinical rotations at Mater Misericordiae Hospital, fostering critical thinking and hands‑on competence. This full‑time, onsite position ensures students quickly adapt to both classroom and clinical environments.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical presentations and orientation programs for new students.
• Monitor and support students during internal and external clinical placements.
• Plan and conduct theoretical and practical assessments.
• Review practical logs to gauge procedural proficiency.
• Distribute learning objectives and schedules to clinical facilities.
• Design rotation plans, assessment schedules, and other teaching tools.
• Communicate with the nursing department to resolve clinical issues.
• Collaborate with colleagues to update course content and learning outcomes.
• Address student concerns related to their learning experience.
• Participate in departmental quality‑improvement initiatives and reporting.

Required profile

• Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) and holding a valid practicing license.
• Minimum two years of active classroom and clinical teaching in nursing or midwifery.
• Relevant qualification such as KRN, KRM, KRN/M, KRCHN, BSCN or equivalent.
• Specializations in KRCCN, KRNN, or KRPON are an advantage.
