Medical Officer (JG CPSB 07)

About the role

The Migori County Public Service Board is seeking qualified Medical Officers (JG CPSB 07) to join its hospital team. The role involves delivering clinical services, supporting emergency response and contributing to the development of hospital protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the hospital and liaise with local and national authorities, donor agencies and stakeholders to promote hospital programs.
• Provide clinical advice to management and the board on service requirements.
• Perform medical and surgical procedures, including emergency surgeries when needed.
• Conduct internal quality checks and develop clinical protocols in line with SOPs.
• Participate in disaster and emergency preparedness and response.
• Manage medicines, medical instruments and equipment, and maintain accurate health records.

Required profile

• Kenyan citizenship.
• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.BCh.B.) from a recognized university with a minimum B+ mean grade at KCSE.
• Successful completion of a one‑year internship.
• Valid registration and practicing licence from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
• Additional training in BLS, ACLS and ATLS is an advantage.
