College Principal (Nursing School)

About the role

The College Principal will lead the establishment, accreditation and ongoing management of a new Nursing School in Nairobi. This senior position transitions from a project‑lead role during the setup phase to full principal responsibilities once accreditation by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) and TVETA is secured.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the accreditation process with NCK and TVETA, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
• Oversee the outfitting of skills labs, library and classrooms to NCK standards.
• Develop and submit curricula and training syllabi for approval.
• Negotiate and finalize MoUs with hospitals for student clinical placements.
• Assist in recruiting qualified tutors and clinical instructors.
• Manage daily administrative, financial and operational functions of the campus.
• Provide academic leadership for nursing training and clinical research.
• Serve as accounting officer, handling budgeting, resource allocation and staff development.
• Supervise student indexing, examinations, graduations and disciplinary matters.
• Prepare periodic management reports for the Board of Directors.

Required profile

• Registered nursing professional with NCK accreditation.
• Minimum 5 years (60 months) of senior‑level experience in nursing education or related health‑sector leadership.
• Proven experience managing accreditation projects and establishing educational infrastructure.
• Strong background in curriculum development, clinical partnership negotiation and staff recruitment.
• Excellent knowledge of Kenyan nursing regulatory bodies (NCK, TVETA) and compliance standards.
